We were joined by several friends in October for a weekend trip to Goblin Valley in Utah--the weather was fabulous and the kids loved playing with each other and in the dirt. Here are some pics from our longer-and-more-strenuous-than-billed hike:

Camping at Lake Dillon
August 2008
We were nervous about where we would stay because we couldn't get a reservation at the campground, but we scored a fabulous campspot on the lake that someone had cancelled an hour before. (If that was you, God, thank you!) We took the port-a-boat out and did a little fishing, explored an island, rode bikes, went swimming at the rec center, got to see Beth and meet Yiannis and Sofia, and drove to Kremmling and Granby to see where Ben was born. A lovely way to end the summer and start the new school year.

A few weeks ago I received a package from my college roommate, Sarah Stranske. As I opened it, I thought, "Why would she be sending me a book?" I didn't recognize the title of the novel, and was very confused when I saw the author was......Sarah Stranske! Wow!! My roomie is a published author! The kids do a great job of making sure I don't have chunks of time to sit down and read, but the brief sessions I do get to invest in reading it make me wish I had more. I'm a few chapters in and can't wait to find out what happens! So, as a shameless plug from me to any readers who haven't investigated this book yet, here's the link to Amazon to check it out.
Go, Sarah!
