Technicalities

One of the reasons I stopped blogging last spring was because I was a bit concerned about identity safety--how smart is it to be posting all this stuff where anyone/everyone can read it? Real names, pictures, events... Yikes. Some blogs I've read use aliases and don't use pictures, especially of kids. Others post it all, and as a reader, I love getting it all. Another option seems to be limiting the blog to certain subscribers, but that takes some of the fun out of it (I don't like having to ask to read an acquaintance's blog), and I don't know if that is compatible with Reader/RSS feed. So for the last 8 months I've been posting pics/blurbs to Facebook, which feels safer because there are privacy controls, but I miss being able to post bigger blurbs. So, dear readers (both of you), have you struggled with this? What have you come up with? Is there some amazing technology that will do away with my dilemma? I'm all ears.
